Isaiah B Brunt a former Darling Harbour studios owner operator had a successful career in the studio business, with the privilege to meet and work with major Australian artist’s and bands during his time behind the console. Working with the cream of the crop of Australian popular bands of the 80’s and 90’s and projects with Midnight Oil’s Rob Hirst, Cold Chisel’s Steve Prestwich, Rick Brewster of the Angels are just a few to mention including international movie star Keanu Reeves while filming the Matrix in Sydney.
All the while Isaiah’s passion for the blues was always simmering in the background he was reignited with his love for the blues when he dusted off his father’s 1950’s custom lap steel guitar.
In 2005 Isaiah started writing original songs and working at creating his own sound, by 2008 he co-wrote a EP with local Indigenous Blues artist Marlene Cummins which garnered high rotation on Qantas globally upon release.
2010 saw Isaiah become the Sydney Blues Society performer of the year, representing Sydney as the opening act for the International Blues Showcase in Memphis in 2011 gaining a interview immediately after his performance to appearing on the Memphis Daily Newspaper. His first self-titled EP was picked up in by a agent in Memphis and gained number 7# in the top 10 Global Airplay Direct charts of that year introducing Isaiah’s music worldwide. After recording his second album a 2013 release achieved 7# in the top 10 Australian Blues Charts. Isaiah decided to record his third album with a full band sound in mind heading over to New Orleans in the US. This paid off opening doors on a World wide scale and winning critical acclaim in the US & North America earning him the spot as the No#1 Australasian Blues artist in the North America’s Blues Underground scene alongside Buddy Guy (US) and John Mayall (UK).
The self-produced album also featured Isaiah’s video and title track “Just The Way That It Goes” on the US issue of Vintage Guitar Player Magazine it entered famed New Jersey magazine “The Aquarian Magazine” making it one of their picks for top 10 Blues albums of 2015.
Isaiah’s recent album “A Moment In Time” also self-produced, featured Meters legend George Porter Jr on bass released in July 2016 has continued gaining notoriety with positive reviews in both Blues and Jazz magazines such as Allabout Jazz, Jazzlite, Offbeat New Orleans, American Blues & American Blues Scene magazines as well as many European magazines including UK mag Blues Matters building a strong profile as well as a Blues following on the Blues Radio airwaves.
Isaiah has performed in USA, Australia, New Zealand and in 2018/2019 will include the South Pacific, India and the UK.
