This Sunday may’ve been fight day because of Connor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, but after the bout came the battle, with that battle being Heat Three of the Passport To Airlie Battle Of The Bands Competition. Yesterday four acts stepped into the ring, and not one of them pulled any punches.

PASSPORT TO AIRLIE BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITION - HEAT TWO

With the Passport To Airlie Battle Of The Bands Competition now up to Heat Two, this event is definitely in full swing. Five bands took part in this Battle Of The Bands yesterday, and during this Battle, all five bands came out swinging (and it was soon apparent that “swing” was going to be an operative word...).

Well, it’s hard to believe, but here we are again! It’s August in Newcastle, so that means it’s time for something special (and no, not just my birthday). I am of course talking about the Passport To Airlie Battle of the Bands Competition. With Newcastle being one of the hosts of this national comp since 2014, Passport To Airlie has become something of an institution for many many Novocastrian live music lovers. The comp has also given dozens of upcoming artists their time to shine by providing a platform (and a stage) for them to strut their stuff and showcase their musical talents in front of hundreds of music fans, all whilst competing for some truly fantastic prizes.

Yes that’s right fellow music lovers, it’s that time of year again where we count down to the entertainment spectacle and sounds of the Passport To Airlie Band Competition.
