DEFACED were started in 2007 by Mark Wallace with the view to gather exceptional musicians from all backgrounds to create a different show that delivers all your favourite songs from the vaults of the classics to today’s current hits but from 2007 to 2010 they have gone through changes and additions to the line up to become a 'smokin' rock band.
DEFACED are one of the most experienced, versatile and exciting Rock bands working the Hunter region. They are a combination of excellent, highly respected musicianship, enormous diversity in material, high energy entertainment, thoroughly professional attitude, and most importantly, DAMN GOOD FUN!!
THIS BAND PUMPS!
Few bands play with such passion and power, and with the ability to recreate so effectively so many types of music.
DEFACED “LIVE LOUD AND DANGEROUS”
The reason for this "power and passion" and general all round entertainment value lies in the unique personnel combination in the band - years of experience that have not dulled the excitement, commitment, energy and enthusiasm to get out there and give the punters the best possible show, and the ability to "read" a room and give the audience what they want.
LEAD VOCALS - PAUL MARIO DAY.
English born Day has a stellar legacy in the music industry, which has given him an incredible base as a singer and songwriter. He was the original lead singer with international group “IRON MAIDEN” and he later formed 3 piece bands “More”. In the 80’s “More” toured throughout Europe supporting bands such as Krocus, Def Leopard, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, Foreigner, Motorhead, AC/DC and Whitesnake. In 1985 Paul joined “The Sweet”, touring Australia, Germany, Austria and England, and even today he is still regarded as one of the greatest singers of “The Sweet”. Now living in Australia, he is well received and people still remember him with enthusiasm. A search on the internet will reveal many hits and mentions of his amazing career.
DRUMS and VOCALS – MARK WALLACE
The powerhouse and the ROCK that has been behind other great Newcastle bands such as The Cruisers, AMIGOS, GRINGOS and now he is seated behind DEFACED’S driving beat, Mark is another of the legends of the Newcastle rock scene. His enthusiasm, high energy and dedication make him one of the most powerful drummers around. Mark has one of the best drum kits and drum sounds you are likely to hear, and his solid beat and versatility are an indispensible contribution to the DEFACED. Mark loves to rock, and he makes the audiences love to rock with him.
ACCOUSTIC / ELECTRIC GUITARS as well as VOCALS– SUKREE BUKKUNTOD. Sukree, who is originally from Thailand has been playing guitar for 30 years, he is well known for his BIG BOYS Band which was a renowned “QUEEN” Tribute show in his native country and for the last 10 years he has played with “DEFACED. Prior to that he played in “Rock Back” duo and “Golden Triangle”. A “GUITAR VIRTUOSO’ in every sense of the word. Sukree’s influences are: Brian May, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore Eddie Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore and of course Jimi Hendrix. His passion is brought to the fore every time he plays a must see a spellbinding performer.
